Pennsylvania Senator Says Proposal To Impose A Payroll Tax To Help Expand State Health Insurance Not Likely To Pass

Pennsylvania Sen. Jake Corman (R) on Tuesday said lawmakers likely will not pass a proposal by Gov. Ed Rendell (D) that would impose a payroll tax on small businesses that do not provide health insurance to their employees, in part because of legality concerns and the effect it would have on businesses, the AP/Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
